This indicator is a measure of the total number of projects implemented using CORE funding. “Initiatives” should focused on implementing nature-based solutions and include: ● On-the ground conservation activities such as: o General ecosystems management interventions (e.g. regenerative/climate-smart agricultural techniques to improve ecosystem integrity) o Rehabilitation interventions such as planting vegetation, outplanting corals, restoring hydrological flows retc. o Threat abatement (e.g. implementing a waste clean up and prevention program at project sites) ● Policies, plans, regulations etc. supporting implementation of gender-responsive NbS ● Trainings/workshops/mentorship programs for NCTFs ● Capacity building for community-based organizations or general community citizens (focused on natural resource management skills) ● Technical assessments of organizations ● Or any combination of conservation and gender integration efforts A “project” is a temporary and organized endeavour with a specific goal, defined scope, allocated resources and a set timeline. If a funded project has a combination of the initiatives listed above, it should only be counted once. An initiative is defined as “implemented” if on-the-ground interventions have been designed, fully implemented and completed before the end of the project. Higher = better
